ACCORDING TO THE BIBLE, CHRISTIANS ARE BAPTIZED WITH THE HOLY GHOST

PERSONAL INTRO: I have had the blessing to discover the word of God through the saving grace of Jesus Christ, and I have no fear of persecution from those who have deemed themselves unworthy of the redeeming power of Jesus Christ. Even Jesus Christ told his disciples that they would be reviled, tortured, mocked, and even killed for preaching His Gospel. Stephen, the Apostle, was killed for preaching the word of God. But the comfort was offered by Christ Himself, when he said that in the face of persecution, the disciples should be “exceedingly glad” because they will have won favor in the eyes of God for their bravery and steadfastness in the Holy Spirit!

Jesus reveals that His followers are baptized with the Holy Ghost:
ACTS: 11: 16 Then remembered I the word of the Lord, how that He said, John Indeed baptized with water; but ye shall be baptized with the Holy Ghost. What is the fate of the earthly kings, rulers and priests who mock the word of God and refuse to be saved? Certain death.

In ACTS, it is very clear how the living God, through the Holy Spirit, works through his Apostles. When the Apostles are imprisoned by Herod for preaching the gospel, God sends his Angels to remove them from prison.

Ananias and his wife, Sapphira, are struck dead for lying to God, when they declare themselves to be Apostles, sell their properties, but keep a certain share, contradicting their vow to serve God by giving to the poor.

King Herod, who declares war on Christians, has his due punishment from God.

ACTS 12: 1-7

1 Now about that time, Herod the king stretched forth his hands to vex certain of the church.

2 And he killed James the brother of John with the sword.

3 And because he saw it pleased the Jews, he proceeded further to take Peter also. (Then were the days of unleavened bread)

4 And when he had apprehended him, he put him in prison, and delivered him to four quaternions of soldiers to keep him; intending after Easter to bring him forth to the people.

5 Peter therefore was kept in prison: but prayer was made without ceasing of the church unto God for him.

6 And when Herod would have brought him forth, the same night Peter was sleeping between two soldiers, bound with two chains: and the keepers before the door kept the prison.

7 And behold the angel of the Lord came upon him, and a light shined in the prison: and he smote Peter on the side, and raised him up, saying, Arise up quickly. And the chains fell off from his hands. [Holy Bible, King James Version]

King Herod’s death: ACTS: 12: 21-23

21 And upon a set day, Herod arrayed in royal apparel. Sat upon his throne, and made an oration unto them.

22 And the people gave a shout, saying it is the voice of a god, and not of a man.

23 And immediately the angel of the Lord smote him, because he gave not God the glory: and he was eaten of worms and gave up the ghost. [Holy Bible, King James Version]
